Root Canal Treatment
Save the tooth. Eliminate the pain.
Root canal treatment has an undeserved reputation. Carried out well, under good anaesthesia, it should be no more uncomfortable than having a filling, and the alternative, losing the tooth entirely, is nearly always a greater inconvenience in the long run.
The treatment involves carefully cleaning the inside of the tooth, removing infected or damaged nerve tissue, shaping the canals, and sealing them to prevent re-infection. The tooth is then restored, usually with a crown, to protect it long-term.
At The Lodge, root canal treatment is carried out with the precision and patience it demands. We use rotary nickel-titanium instruments and specialist irrigation protocols to negotiate even complex canal anatomy thoroughly. The process is explained clearly at each stage, and there is no rush.
A tooth that has had root canal treatment, restored correctly, can last for many yearsl, often a lifetime. If you have been told you need root canal treatment, or if you are experiencing toothache, sensitivity, or swelling, please contact us. Early treatment is nearly always better than delayed treatment.
