Why we collect it and how we use it

We use your personal information to provide dental treatment and maintain accurate clinical records. To communicate with you about appointments, treatment, and your care. To comply with our legal and regulatory obligations, including those set by the General Dental Council (GDC) and Care Quality Commission (CQC). To process payments for treatment. To contact you in relation to your ongoing care, including recalls and follow-up appointments.

How long we keep your information

Clinical records are retained for a minimum of 10 years from the date of your last appointment, in accordance with GDC guidance. For patients treated as children, records are retained until their 25th birthday, or for 10 years from their last appointment if that is later. Financial records are retained for 6 years in accordance with HMRC requirements. Website enquiry data is retained for 12 months.

Who we share your information with

We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. We may share your information with other dental or medical professionals involved in your care where clinically necessary, dental laboratories and specialist clinicians who assist in providing your treatment, our regulatory bodies where required by law, and software providers who support the operation of our practice under appropriate data processing agreements.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate information, request deletion of your information in certain circumstances, object to or restrict the processing of your information, and withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
