Dental Implants
Dental implants are titanium posts that are surgically replaced into your bone beneath your gums. These implants provide a sturdy foundation for a fixed or removable replacement teeth and help maintain the natural shape of your face and smile.
Benefits of dental implants
- Natural look and feel: dental implants are designed to mimic the appearance and function of your natural teeth. They integrate with your jawbone, offering instability and comfort.
- Durability: With care and excellent oral hygiene, dental implants can last a lifetime. They are made from durable materials that were stand the daily wear and tear of eating and speaking.
- Improved oral health: unlike traditional bridges, dental implants do not require altering or adjusting adjacent teeth. This helps preserve the natural health of your teeth and prevent bone loss in the jaw.
- Enhanced comfort: dental implants eliminate the inconvenience of wearing removable dentures and the need for messy adhesives.
- Improved functionality: dental implants function like natural teeth, allowing you to bite and chew with ease.
The implant process
- Consultation and planning: your journey starts with a comprehensive dental examination, including x-rays and 3-D imaging. This helps us create a personalised treatment plan tailored to your needs.
- Surgical placement: during a minor surgical procedure, the titanium implant is placed into the jawbone. Over the next few months, the implant fuses with the bone in a process called osseointegration.
- Crown placement: finally, a custom-made crown is attached to the implant. The crown is designed to match the colour shape and size your natural teeth, ensuring a seamless appearance.
